LOCATION
The
municipality of Artà lies in the north-east part of the island of Majorca, and
is about 60 kilometres from the city of Palma.
Many archaeological sites are located in Artà, less than a kilometre from the town centre.
"Ses Païsses" is one of the most important
archaeological sites not only in the municipality of Artà, but for the
east of the island.
"Ses Paisses belonged to the time of the talayotic culture, and their chronology existed
approximately 1300 to the 1000 bc.
A visit to the fortified walls surrounding Arta is recommended, called "L'Almudaina"
once within the walls there is a sanctuary known as "Sant Salvador".
