DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA
Located near "Muro", this small town is considered
important in tourist terms, because it is part of "Can Picafort" "Son
Bauló" and "Son Serra de Marina", in the Alcúdia bay.
In "Can Picafort" tourism was already popular during the last century,
small vacation huts were built for the summer holidays, they can be seen on
the, beach "Platja dels Capellans" in "Muro".
Situated in the flat lands, with a coast of aproximately 9 kms long. Made up
of part dunes, and part fine sand beaches, conforming into an area of
great ecologoical value.
153 archaeological locations are documented in the municipal term, which
makes "Santa Margalida" a paradise for lovers of archaeology.
