LOCATION
The
municipality of Artà lies in the north-east part of the island and
is about 60 kilometres from the city of Palma.
Many archaeological sites are located in Arta, and in less than a kilometre
from the town centre, towards the south east direction, you will
arrive at "Ses Païsses It is one of the most important
archaeological remains, not only in the municipality of Artà ,but for the whole of eastern
Majorca.
It belongs to the time of the talayotic culture approxiamately dating back
to 1300bc
we recommend a visit to the fortified walls surrounding Arta, called "L'Almudaina"
once within the walls there is a sanctuary known as "Sant Salvador".
