DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA

Sineu, a popular
town best known for its spring festivals, attracting many people
from all over the island. Every year on the first sunday of May,
the "Sa Fira" (festival) takes place . . An agricultural, animal
and crafts fair, which has kept the old tradition. The same
stands are to be found in the same place, every year., you will
see a display of products of all types: fruit, vegetables,
plants and clothing.
Within the
"Plaza de la Iglesia" and in the, "calle Mayor"; you will find
fowl, further along towards "Sant Marc"; you will find chairs,
footstools and plant pots, a bit further down; trench coats and
riding saddles. On the street "calle de la Rectoría." Animals
are to be found. There is also an animal show and an exhibition
of agricultural machinery and cars in the Plaza De Marcado..
Particularly interesting, is the market of Sineu, which takes
place every Wednesday. It is quite an event; the only market in
Mallorca selling livestock. Many farmers go there to buy an
animal or two, and as a treat eat the famous local "frito".
Tourists are more than welcome to visit this market. |
