OF THE AREA
The
municipality of Artà lies in the north-east part of the island of Majorca, and is about
60 kilometres from the city of Palma.
Many archaeological sites are located in Artà, less than a kilometre from the towns
centre. "Ses Païsses" is one of the most important archaeological remains,
found on the island.
It belonged to the time of the "talayotic" culture and their chronology
existed approximately 1300 to 1000
A visit to the fortified walls is recommended, these walls are called
"L'Almudaina"
once within the walls there is a sanctuary known as "Sant Salvador".
The beaches are approximately 8 kilometers to "Cala Torta",
"Cala Agulla" or "Cala Mangrana".
